The Work Beyond The Build

If you stepped into a boardroom meeting at Prica Global Enterprises, you'd quickly notice that community isn't just a side note. It's central to every conversation. Whether we are evaluating a new development or identifying where our time and energy can make a difference, one thing stays constant; we believe our success is deeply connected to the people around us, our community.
Thinking about how a community is built comes naturally to us. We are builders, our minds are wired for structure, design, and planning, we look to blueprints as a guide for shaping what’s next. But as we’ve seen time and again, it’s not only materials and permits that hold a city together, it’s people. We hope as we share our involvement in the community, it inspires our readers, partners, team members and community at large to explore getting involved as well.

Earlier this season, we joined the team at Ray of Hope in downtown Kitchener. Alongside our culinary partners at Crowsfoot Smokehaus, we were able to prepare and deliver 130 fresh meals to individuals facing hardship. Ray of Hope is more than a meal service, but a place of solace, safety and compassion. Being part of this initiative reminded us that sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply show up and share a meal. We encourage those who can get involved to do so - explore options here: https://rayofhope.net/
In that same spirit, we also partnered with Crowsfoot to support oneROOF Youth Services, an organization that supports youth aged 12 to 25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. They offer essential services like emergency shelter, mental health resources, housing support, and outreach to help youth find stability. Over just six days, our team helped provide between 60 and 90 meals to youth who rely on these supports. It was a small effort with meaningful weight, and we’re proud to continue supporting the work they do. This season also brought us to The X Page: A Storytelling Workshop. This powerful program brings together immigrant and refugee women with professional writers and artists to help shape and share their personal journeys. These stories are told in their own words and are real, raw, and full of courage. In our participation, we had the honour of meeting this year’s participants, whose stories, left us deeply moved. There is something incredibly strong in hearing someone speak their truth, and even more so when they’re given a space to be heard. That, to us, is what community is about. Read their stories here, see how you can get involved, or if you are new to Canada - consider sharing your story next season: https://tnq.ca/x-page/. This season will conclude with a performance from all participants. We encourage you, our reader, to stay in the loop and be sure to join us as we support this year’s women at their showcase.
Looking ahead, we’re also stepping into new opportunities to support. Our upcoming partnerships include Gallery Stratford, and new efforts alongside organizations like the OPPA and Traces.
We are grateful to each organization that has welcomed us in and allowed us a chance to learn from those who are already doing this work every day. We live where we build, we love where we live.
